A few hours ago news hit the web that Steve Jobs, the co-Founder and former CEO of Apple Inc., has died. Its a bit overwhelming reading the outpouring of feelings.  Steve Jobs’s impact is massive, he was part of a group of people who brought the computer out of the office and the lab and put it in the hands of everyday people. For many he and Apple were technology. In some ways he said his goodbye in his last appearance when he thanked his team and stated that Apple sat between technology and Liberal arts .
He wasn’t a perfect man; people who worked with said he was a bit of an asshole. But what he brought to technology; attention to design, detail, and usability; have left their mark on the computer industry.
You can’t sum up a man’s life in an obituary or in 140 characters or this post. Steve Jobs was what he was and now he’s gone and we are all the better for it. I wish his family well for they are the ones that truly lost him and I hope we give the space to mourn.
